Definition of Hip Hop and it's history: Hip-Hop is a style of popluar music of US black and Hispanic origin, featuring rap with an electronic backing. Hip-Hop started in the Bronx of New York in 1970s. Hip-Hop started of with breakbeats and house parties. Hip-Hop took the influence from jazz to soul music.
2pac is a legend and has influenced hip-hop with his poetic words. 2pac has spoken of the poors and the government who has done nothing to help the poor. 2pac touched peoples lives with his incredicle words. Like Eminem 2pac never cared about what people thought about him. That's another influence he gave which is to not be afraid of "Freedom of Speech".
Christopher Wallace also known as Notorious B.I.G. Biggie Smalls is easily one of the best lyricist in hip-hop, PERIOD! Biggie dropped his album "Ready to Die" (1994) talking about his life. Biggie influenced a lot of great artist's today but not many have touched his mightiest rhyme schemes.
Nasir Jones also known for his hip-hop name as Nas. Nas released "illimatic" (1994) that landed No.12 on the Billboard chart and No.2 on the R&B chart. Nas has similar patterns as 2pac because they both spoke about struggles, about the poor's but more importantly he spoke out to society with both positive and true messages.
Sean Carter also know as Jay Z. Jay Z became a rapper in order to seperate himselves from drugs and violence. He is another great artist who have influenced younger artist's. Once Jay z and Nas came into a conflict between each other battling for the crown of New York. Jay Z has the ability to tell stories and have great word play.
Marshall Mathers also known as his stage name Eminem. Eminem is the first artist to break border line of racism in hip-hop. He gave others the posibility to touch the mic and say whatever is in your mind. He started of as a battle rapper and made his way to getting a deal with Dr.Dre. Eminem has so n to rapping. He has the ability to tell stories, rhyme words that no one has done before, he can freestyle in the top of his head. Eminem may be white but don't let that fool you on his skills.
